But does it really work? As we already mentioned, CBD can aid with relaxation. However, unlike traditional anti-anxiety medicine, it’s natural and perfectly safe. At least that’s what the scientists know so far. That said, the preliminary research is promising.

For example, one study from 2010 discovered that CBD could reduce the symptoms in people with a social anxiety disorder (SAD). According to the brain scans of the participants, there were visible changes in the blood flow to the regions linked to feelings. Another study from 2011 focused on public speaking confirmed this result.

Next, we have the 2014 research with the discovery that CBD oil has anti-anxiety and anti-depressant effects in an animal model.

Then, a 2015 analysis of multiple CBD studies discovered that CBD oil could help with the high rate of success with panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Last but not least, a case study from 2016 proved that CBD could help to deal with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It also showed promising results in reducing the symptoms of sleep disorder in children with a history of trauma.

Researchers are still at the very beginning of discovering what CBD can do for us. They are also at the beginning of learning if there are any possible long-term side effects. But as the studies are already showing us, it seems that CBD’s good reputation is there for a reason.
